Liquidity: Look for daily access, number of checks, minimums, etc. 3. Convenience: Check for long-term fund and brokerage account options. 4. Yield: Is it a market rate and is your comparison current? Is the rate annualized, simple or compound? 5. Taxability: Would a tax-exempt money fund be better? ("Yes" only for the highest tax bracket and high-tax states.)
